Mary Grooms turned on a "twin" to the
Livermore Centennial Light Bulb in a ceremony last week at Fire
Station #6 in Livermore. A Shelby light bulb belongin to Livermore
has been burning for 100 years. Marys father was given the Shelby
light bulb when he lived in Livermore. He took the light bulb
with him when he moved and later gave it to Mary. Mary, who lives
in Colorado, brought her Shelby with her on a visit to Livermore
to see if the bulb would light up. It still has the Shelby label
on it and as far as can be determined was never used, because
the first one hasn't burned out yet. |
